Oracle releases new agentic AI features for HR

Its Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM platform now offers employees more self-service tools.

Enterprise software giant Oracle introduced a set of new AI-powered agents built inside its Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM platform.

Oracle’s new AI agents are designed to automate routine HR tasks and allow HR pros and employees to spend more time on their own meaningful work and enhance productivity.

AI agents are tools that are designed to perform specific tasks and make decisions within a set of predetermined parameters.

“The amount of time employees spend on complex HR processes can be overwhelming and distract from their primary job responsibilities,” said Chris Leone, executive vice president of applications development at Oracle, in a news release Thursday. “The new AI agents in Oracle Cloud HCM help HR and business leaders automate some of the most time-consuming tasks, enabling employees to focus on work that really matters.”

Oracle’s AI agents will help employees access HR information in career development and learning, compensation and timekeeping, and other employee lifecycle support needs.

For instance, the AI agent can help employees through time off requests and inform them of their rights to specific types of leave.

AI agents in Oracle Cloud HCM platform also provide HR teams with a centralized data source for workforce analytics.

The move builds on Oracle’s efforts in the last year to expand the development of agentic AI tools and build more than 50 role-based agents into its platform. Oracle is among the enterprise organizations and software companies racing to develop AI capabilities that address specific organizational tasking needs in order to free up human capital for the sort of work that humans do best.

Rivals like SAP SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, and Workday have all developed and deployed agentic tools to help drive workplace change to improve human productivity.
