Adam Grant, the popular Wharton organizational psychologist and professor and prolific LinkedIn poster, is headed to Glassdoor, the online hub for juicy employer info and reviews, according to company officials.
This week the company announced it had tapped Grant as its first chief worklife expert.
At Glassdoor, Grant expects to leverage the company’s workplace data, including its popular company reviews and salary info and workplace insights, to address “issues like burnout, career growth, and workplace well-being” and write content for Glassdoor and lead interactive discussions in its community. Grant already hosts popular workplace podcasts Re:Thinking and WorkLife and delivers a free monthly newsletter, Granted.
“Glassdoor is a major force for making worklife better. For years, their data-driven insights have helped me understand jobs, leaders, and cultures,” Grant said in a news release. “I hope to help people do more meaningful work and organizations build more supportive and productive cultures.”
As its new worklife expert, Grant will eye trends shaping worklife today, including “staying motivated…when most workers feel ‘stuck,’ cultivating a growth mindset…[and] navigating side hustle culture.” Grant also published a blog post for Glassdoor addressing career pivots on Wednesday.
The news of Grant’s partnership with Glassdoor follows last year’s efforts to build a roster of content experts as “Worklife Pros” who post and comment in a number of the platform’s “community bowls.”
Glassdoor CEO Christian Sutherland-Wong said in the release that the pair’s new collab is about “more than transforming the workplace” and that Grant’s work aligns with the company’s mission.
“Together, we’re fostering a world where people have the support and resources they need to make the most of their worklife,” he said.
