Fall isn’t just for changing leaves. Many HR leaders are turning over new leaves themselves, as they move on to new roles. So, let’s dive right in.

David’s Bridal. Andrea Dauphinee, who’s been with the retailer since 2018, was recently promoted to CHRO. She has nearly 30 years of HR experience, and has climbed quickly at David’s Bridal, with three promotions in just over five years.

Grammarly. The grammar software business recently named Heather Gille as its new chief people officer. Gille transitioned to the tech world in 2019, with stints leading people operations at Glu Mobile (now part of Electronic Arts) and Certinia, a financial software company. She also spent more than 13 years moving up the ranks at Gap, where she began in merchandise planning, and left as a manager in talent acquisition.

Kaiser Permanente. Greg Holmes was promoted to SVP and CHRO in late September, six years after rejoining the company. Holmes has already been busy in his new role; he was part of the historic pay negotiations with the hospital system’s worker union earlier this month, after 75,000 workers went on strike, Cal Matters reported.

M&T Bank. The Buffalo-based bank with more than 22,000 employees, has hired David Hollis as its new CHRO, overseeing HR functions including employee development, benefits, and relations. Most recently, Hollis spent three years as EVP and CHRO at Flagstar Bank, where he was an integral part of employee integration when Flagstar was acquired by New York Community Bancorp in 2022.

Nordstrom. The department store hired retail veteran and boomerang employee Lisa Price in early October. Price spent the last four years as EVP and CHRO at Domino’s Pizza, but was part of the Nordstrom HR team from 2015–2019. Her new role will encompass all HR operations, including recruitment, succession planning, and DEIB efforts.

VF Corporation. It was unclear where Salesforce’s former CPO Brent Hyder was headed next when he announced his departure in August. Now we know. He’s taken over as CPO at VF Corporation, which owns Timberland, The North Face, and Vans, the company announced. He’ll oversee talent acquisition and development for the company’s more than 30,000 employees. But this isn’t Hyder’s first dive into retail, as he previously served as CHRO at Gap.
